president obama weighing in saying there are concerns right now about letting children play the sport. you started when you were very young man. you started playing when you were 9 years old. question is, considering some of the suicides and brain damage of former nfl players out there, where do you stand on this issue now? >> jon, i agree with the president. i think that what he said is that, look, we have to find ways to enhance this game and find ways to improve this game. we have to look at areas we can protect young people. for me i'm right with him. i think i'm part of this safety committee. john madden is the chairman of the safety committee. he's constantly trying to talk about ways that we can enhance the game. obviously we're trying to change hitting. we have to encourage young people in the youth leagues to change hitting. i think the other thing that we have to do especially in the youth area, we have to require kids to have new helmets every year and unfortunately when you think about that, that's a big cost. i think if we had the nfl subsidizing that cost and had the nfl
